Sold -- Horses we no longer own - they have gone to new homes.
Ultra New York Double Dare and her 2007 colt Ten Ls Legacy's Classic Gold have been sold to Laura and Joe Tennill of Ten Ls Training Center. I will move their pictures here (and their information) in February.
Bob has been sold and on 4/7/07 left for his new home with Jill and Larry Hannum in Ohio.
AMHA/AMHR: Angel Acres Heaven Sent (aka Bob)

1995 (dna'd and permanent) 30.25" red roan medicine hat stallion with blue eyes. His sire is Hemlock Brooks Prancing Prince. His dam is Little Kings Ebony Supreme by Little Kings Supreme.
Bob is a bit long in the back for our taste, but is an excellent mover - he has a lot of reach in his shoulder and some lift in knee and hock. He is a correct mover. Bob also has a nice length of neck, a nice neckset and a good throatlatch - these are NOT shown well in this picture.
Bob is also a downsizer (helps big mares produce foals smaller than themselves) and puts a lot of color on his foals.
Bob's 2005, 2006 and 2007 foals are tiny and correct. He produced a couple black tovero pintos, a blue roan and a bay pinto for Kay Talley (Kay's Mini Lane Farm) in 2005. In 2006 he produced a red medicine hat colt (2 blue eyes) and 2 blue roan fillies (there were more foals but we lost track of them). In 2007 he produced several foals - only ones we know about are a black pinto filly (with blue eyes) and a blue roan filly. You can see pictures of all of these on our Foals page.
As of January 2007, Bob has 11 registered AMHA offspring. All are either roans or pintos or both.
Bob has been nominated to the AMHR futurity for the 2006 breeding season - his 2007 foals will be eligible to participate in the futurity if their dam's are also nominated (by their owners) by March 1st, 2007.
---------------------------------------------------------------
As of 3/20/07 I am told that Bob already has a live 2007 foal on the ground. A small Blue Roan Pinto Filly for Kay Talley. We are expecting at least 4 more foals for him this year - alas, none to mares that we currently own.
As of 4/9/07 I know that Bob had another blue roan filly for Kay Talley - unfortunately this one did not make it out of the bag.
April 2007 - he had a filly out of a gray mare as well. This filly looks solid black with a star, but could be a blue roan under that dark winter hair - we will see.
May 2007 he had a red pinto colt out of a black based silver dapple mare. Unfortunately he did not survive foaling.
Our 20 year old mare (problems carrying foals to term) was not in foal when checked fall 2006.
AMHA/AMHR Checkmates Stormy - September 2006 - Gregg Jones of Bethel Ohio is now the new owner of this mare. Congratulations on your purchase, Gregg!

Stormy is a 1990 AMHA/AMHR silver dapple mare. She carries the bloodlines of Flying M Roan Ranger.
She is the dam of Js FHF Platinum Ice Storm (pictured with her at 3 days old). She has produced several foals including in 2005, a chestnut colt that Haligonian Farms exported to Russia.
Stormy is a correct mover with a lot of reach in her shoulders and some hock/knee action. Her babies are sane, sensible and very friendly.
AMHA/AMHR Js FHF Platinum Ice Storm - Sold to Bill and Wanalynn Chapman of Tennessee - W.W. Miniature Horse Farm

Picture below taken 2/3/07 - Penny with one of her new owners, Wanalynn Chapman.

Penny is a 2003 blackbased silver mare (chocolate?) who MIGHT be a champagne (has pink skin). Her sire is Tenls Destiny's Double Platinum (our - now - gelding who is by Alvadar's Double Destiny) and her dam is our mare Checkmate's Stormy (see above). I am told Alvadar's Double Destiny is a champagne.
Catcher in the Rye (aka Junior) - as of 2/3/07 Junior has a new home and has gone to live there - here is a picture of him getting ready to go:

no these are not good pictures -- just trying to show his nose.
Catcher In The Rye (aka Junior) 2005 Dark Bay/Brown almost black Gelding - should mature around 32". A very nice Country Pleasure type mover with lots of reach in his shoulder -- an excellent driving prospect.
His body, neck and legs are beautifully put together. He is extremely intelligent and is quite friendly.
"Junior" has a mild to moderate wry nose (laterally deviated rostral maxilla). He has no problem eating or drinking or breathing. His lower jaw is "normal" his upper jaw deviates to the left. He is seen 4x a year by an equine dentist while his upper jaw is growing. So far, it looks like he will have no problem carrying (and responding to) a bit.
His wry nose makes him look like he is smirking at you!
We consulted with veterinarians as to if this "wry nose" trait is or is not heritable. (You can search the internet and find out more about this). The "jury" is still out as to whether or not this is a congenital defect or a genetic one. (here is a link to an article in THE HORSE about wry nose - our horse is not as bad as the one pictured in the article.
We decided that there was a strong chance that the Wry Nose would be heritable - thus opted to geld him instead of breeding him. Why take the chance when we would all be happy with him as a gelding.
We purchased Junior in the fall of 2005 - we fell in love with his delightful personality and his gorgeous conformation (other than his nose of course) when we saw him when he was only a month old.
Our dwarves, Nutmeg and Clove have gone to a new home in Colorado. We miss them terribly - but they have a WONDERFUL new home with Vickie.
